Give Me A Muslim Who Can Swim

"At least I know how to swim
in capitalist, freedom-oriented waters"
Would you rather have a good and decent person make terrible decisions in the White House or a flawed, fallen soul who makes decisions that leads to prosperity and safety for all?

American voters have faced such age-old philosophical, religious, moral, ethical and political dilemmas since the inception of the United States of America. Citizens typically have a binary choice between two major party candidates. Many times voters have had to choose between the policies they prefer to see enacted (Bush 41) versus the moral character of their next commander-in-chief and chief executive officer (Bill Clinton).

Few elections brought that question closer to home for American voters than in 2020...read more at: https://nsjonline.com/article/2021/06/hill-give-me-a-muslim-who-can-swim/

Get Rid of History -- All of It

"and so is history!"
Let’s assume that one day (let’s say tomorrow) everyone wakes up in America with total, utter complete amnesia of who we are as a people and where we have come from genetically, philosophically or figuratively.

We would have no idea that we are Americans. Nor would any of us know if our ancestors came from Africa, Ireland, Europe, Asia or any Latin country. We wouldn’t know there are hundreds of other nations and cultures from which we came, because there would be no written or oral history of the fabric of any other society and religion.

America would be nothing more than a human version of Mutual of Omaha’s “Wild Kingdom.”

Citizen-Politician Lt. Governor Mark Robinson

Citizen-Politician Mark Robinson
Lt. Governor - State of North Carolina 2021
Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson may be the most unique political officer ever elected in North Carolina history.

Not only is he the first person of African-American descent, male or female, to be elected lieutenant governor in North Carolina history, he may be the embodiment of the idealized notion of the “citizen-politician” as envisioned by philosophers such as Aristotle, Cicero and the founders of the American Democratic Republic in 1776.

Citizen-politicians are citizens who work hard and tend to their own business and family....

As I was preparing to comply with city and neighborhood ordinances regarding picking up dog waste, with a bright pink plastic bag, I realized that someone long ago figured out how to clean up dog poop — way before any local ordinance or law was passed and they probably made a lot of money doing it.

Tenure and University Politics at UNC-Chapel Hill

Nikole Hannah-Jones
1619 Project Founder
If all someone who graduated from UNC Chapel Hill has to do is say they want to be a full professor with immediate tenure and not go through the grueling ordeal of having to get a Ph.D in the first place, then count me in. I will go to Chapel Hill and talk about balancing the federal budget until everyone passes out cold in class but still be paid $180,000/year for the rest of my born days.
